不恢復台灣邦交了！薩爾瓦多新總統：承認中國地位
薩爾瓦多與台灣邦交關係備受國際關注，新任總統布格磊(Nayib Bukele)在當選後，也曾表示新政府會考量國家發展與外交策略，「不排除與台灣恢復邦交的可能」。不過就在過了1個月後，布格磊態度突大轉彎，27日宣布，薩爾瓦多與中國大陸關係十分完整，「我們承認中國在世界上的地位」，將持續2國關係，不恢復台灣的邦交了。
綜合外媒報導，布格磊先前曾多次表示，會依薩國自身的國際發展是決定外交策略的重要因素，但因國內議員擁有不同的意見，且美國與中國的關係日益緊張，因此考慮恢復與台灣邦交，並不會受到美國與中國的影響改變立場。
不過1個月後，布格磊態度180度大轉變，他27日在薩爾瓦多首都聖薩爾瓦多(San Salvador)商業會議上談及外交關係，表示目前與中國的外交關係已完整確立，同時會尋求其他國家協助，透過各管道找到薩爾瓦多外援的基礎，並宣布，「我們承認中國在世界上的地位！」
自去年8月21日宣布與台灣斷交後，薩爾瓦多結束與台灣長達77年的邦交關係，並與中國大陸建交。事實上，布格磊在今年2月上任時，也曾說過會重新檢視與中國大陸的外交關係，但當薩國接收了中國社會計畫給予的1.5億美元資金(約新台幣人氣商品開箱文46.5億元)及3千噸稻米食物後，立場立刻轉彎。
